Relevant Training Session: Load weight assessment, de-stacking various types of pallet from various locations, unloading road vehicles, and handling awkward loads.
Learning Outcome: This unit is designed to confirm that the candidate is able to identify loads and their characteristics and match them to available and suitable machines. It confirms that the candidate has the skill to successfully access loads of varying sizes and weights using the machine’s controls with sympathy and care. It ensures that the candidate is able to work safely in the company of others and is aware of the impact that his/her operations will have on others. It ensures that the candidate monitors the equipment to maintain safety throughout the activity and that he/she carries out operations safely.
Assessment: Trainees will be encouraged to build their skills by guided practice, culminating in a formal practical assessment, together with a knowledge questionnaire.
