Relevant Training Session: Load weight assessment, de-stacking and stacking various types of pallet in various locations, unloading and loading road vehicles and awkward load handling.
Learning Outcome: This unit is designed to confirm that the candidate is able to identify loads and their characteristics and match them to available suitable machines. It confirms that the candidate has the skill to successfully deposit loads of varying sizes and weights in a variety of locations, using the machine'’ controls with sympathy and care. It ensures that the candidate is able to work safely in the company of others and is aware of the impact that his/her operations will have on others. It ensures that the candidate is able to monitor the equipment to maintain safety throughout the activity, and that he/she carries out the operations safely.
Assessment: Trainees will be encouraged to build their skills by guided practice, culminating in a formal practical assessment, together with a knowledge questionnaire.
